Land Hermit Crab Owners Society (LHCOS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has protected land hermit crabs through science-based education, ethical standards, and advocacy since 1999.
They provide trusted guidance for responsible captive care, support hermit crab adoptions, and run community programs that improve welfare standards. Their active Facebook group offers ongoing peer support and education for keepers worldwide.

Through her thoughtful Hermit Crab Tracking Project, Emma is combining artistry with curiosity about the wild hermit crabs of the Florida Keys. Her work is a beautiful example of how creativity and conservation can work together to protect our native Purple Pinchers.

Rescue and Rehabilitation
Holly is putting her passion into action by building a large rescue shelter complex for hermit crabs. This new sanctuary will offer safe, permanent homes to hermit crabs who need them most. We’re inspired by her dedication and excited to support her efforts as she creates this important resource for the hermit crab community.

Just 2 Old Crabs, run by Tricia Landers, is dedicated to supporting responsible land hermit crab care through high-quality homemade food mixes and supplies. Based in Illinois, they focus on providing nutritious options that meet the dietary needs of hermit crabs while educating keepers on better husbandry practices.
Their work helps improve the lives of captive hermit crabs and promotes ethical keeping standards.
